Ferrari's Electric Luce Sells Out Early

Ferrari has confirmed that its first fully electric supercar has sold out its planned 2027 allocation, suggesting stronger demand than expected for a model that initially divided enthusiasts over its unconventional design.
Chief executive Benedetto Vigna announced on Tuesday that customer orders for the Luce already cover all vehicles scheduled for sale next year. The company expects initial deliveries before the end of 2026, with customer test drives planned during 2027. Ferrari has not disclosed the number of vehicles allocated, but management expressed confidence that demand could strengthen further once more customers experience the car.
The announcement accompanied stronger third-quarter financial results. Ferrari reported adjusted operating earnings before depreciation and amortisation of €753 million, up 12% from a year earlier, while revenue increased to approximately €1.9 billion. Profitability benefited from deliveries of higher-margin models, particularly the limited-edition F80, and continued demand for personalised features. Ferrari raised its annual earnings forecast despite delivering slightly fewer vehicles than in the corresponding quarter last year.
The Luce represents a significant departure for a manufacturer historically associated with powerful combustion engines. Its early commercial reception suggests that established customers may be more willing to embrace electric performance than initial criticism indicated. Ferrari intends to expand its electric offering as part of a strategy targeting a broader mix of powertrains by 2030. Whether demand remains strong beyond the first allocation will be an important test of electric luxury performance.
